Larry Crowne is Tom Hank’s second feature film. He stars, directs, and produces this movie which is about a middle-aged man who was recently axed from his long-time job. In the bid for personal reinvention, he went back to college and became one with the outlook of many of the students in the university. However, he particularly developed feelings for Mercedes (Julia Roberts), his college professor who is about his age.

Mercedes is losing passion in teaching as much as she is losing the passion she once had for her husband. Larry, on the other hand, was starting life anew in the company of the college outcasts who are all in the quest of unearthing a better future. Together, both Larry and Mercedes try to find new meaning into their lives – even though they knew that they already have lost everything that they’d worked hard for from the very start.
